Sonoko Prow
Transformational Facilitator
I am Japanese-Chinese-Thai, born in Bangkok.
My journey began at Chulalongkorn University, where I studied dramatic arts. There I met Butoh master Katsura Kan, and my life changed. I became his direct student, assisting him on major projects including the opening ceremony of the 13th Asian Games.
For 25 years, I danced. Butoh, contemporary, theatre. I performed at the National Dance Theatre in Hungary, in Mexico, Korea, Singapore, China, Indonesia. I was selected by the World Dance Alliance Asia-Pacific. I taught at universities.
But the deeper I went into movement, the more I was drawn to stillness.
I began training in meditation—Zen with master Gil Alon, Vipassana, OSHO active meditations. I studied psychodrama and dance therapy. I learned that the body holds what words cannot reach.
Today, I bring it all together.
I guide individuals through deep transformation using movement, meditation, and inquiry. I work with hotels and retreat centers to bring authentic depth to their offerings. I continue to perform and teach, bridging the artistic and the therapeutic.
I am based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and work internationally.
My Philosophy
I believe that true transformation happens through the body, not around it.
The mind can understand, but the body must experience. When we meet ourselves fully—in movement and in stillness—change becomes possible.
This isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about meeting what's been waiting to be seen.
